Board of Directors
AM3 is led by a seasoned Board of Directors with significant telecommunications and media industry experience.
Jim Allen, Chairman of the Board (co-investor with Meritage Funds), Mr. Allen has more than 39 years of experience in the creation and management of start-up services businesses in the communications industry, having had key roles in building five enterprises valued at $1.0 billion or more. He is a Founder of Meritage and is actively involved on the Boards of Meritage portfolio companies Masergy Communications and Miniweb. He was Executive Chairman of Meritage portfolio company Xspedius from 2000 to 2004, which was subsequently sold for $567 million. He served as Vice Chairman/CEO of Brooks Fiber Properties, which merged with MCI WorldCom in a $3.4 billion transaction, and was a co-founder/CFO of Cencom Cable Associates, which became the 15th largest cable TV company and was sold for $1.0 billion. Mr. Allen was also a founding investor in Verio, serving as a company director until its $6.4 billion acquisition by NTT.
J.F Berry, Board Member (co-investor with WP Global Partners), Mr. Berry has nine years of private equity and four years of investment banking experience. Before joining WP Global, he was a principal for five years focused on co-investments at Abbott Capital Management LLC, a multi-billion private equity fund-of-funds manager. During this period, he managed a legacy $80 million preferred stock private equity portfolio, invested approximately $70 million of co-investment equity capital and assisted with numerous partnership investments. Previously, Mr. Berry was a junior principal at Grumman Hill Group, a small growth LBO firm, where he analyzed and performed due diligence for direct private equity investment opportunities in several industries. Mr. Berry started his career at Price Waterhouse Corporate Finance as an analyst in their Merger and Acquisitions advisory practice and also worked briefly in the healthcare investment banking practice of CIBC World Markets. Mr. Berry earned an M.B.A. from New York University and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma national honors society. He also earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Franklin and Marshall College.
Scott Rediger, Board Member and Chief Executive Officer (founder and investor), has been the CEO since AM3's inception in January of 2007. AM3 is a triple-play provider (Internet, TV and Voice) in the metro Chicago and Twin Cities are of Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN. Under Scott's leadership, AM3 has grown to over 300 buildings and 33,000 Revenue Generating Units (RGUs). Scott has extensive experience helping build successful companies that deliver exceptional products. Most recently the Chief Operating Officer of Oak Brook Terrace, Ill.-based CIMCO Communications, Inc., Scott co-founded and developed Ovation Communications - a competitive local exchange carrier business offering facility-based local, long distance, and data services to medium and large sized businesses in the metropolitan areas of Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Milwaukee and Detroit. After much growth and success in just two years, Ovation Communications was sold to McLeod USA in 1999 for $402 million. After the sale, Scott served as a Senior Vice President of Products and Development for McLeod USA, developing the company's still-strong presence in the Midwest. Prior to his success with Ovation, Scott worked with MFS Communications, one of the pioneers of the telecommunications revolution, where he held various managerial positions, worked and lived in London assisting with the companies' U.K. launch, and helped develop MFS' entry strategy into Canada. Scott has been actively involved in fund raising activities which has produced $100m debt financing and $100m of equity. Scott also served as an investor and board member of Advocate Networks, an Atlanta-based communication services firm, and held key executive positions as President and Chief Operating Officer of Dantis, a Chicago-based web hosting and managed services firm.
Chris MacFarland, Board Member, Mr. MacFarland has more than 18 years' experience in the telecommunications, software and computer hardware industries. Mr. MacFarland is CEO of MASERGY, Inc., a global network service provider and has previously served as its Chief Operating Officer. Prior to MASERGY, he served as chief technology officer of PAETEC Holdings through PAETEC's acquisition of McLeodUSA. Mr. MacFarland joined McLeodUSA in early 2006 as group vice president and CTO, where he was responsible for leading the network architecture, marketing, technical product development, corporate training, engineering and network planning functions for the company. Prior to McLeodUSA, he served in executive positions for a variety of telecommunications and technology companies, including BroadSoft, Allegiance Telecom, Verio and CompuNet.
Nick Lenoci, Board Member (and investor), Nick Lenoci, is VP of Business Solutions for Bright House Networks, a telecommunications service provider, and has over 20 years' communications experience in many different functions; including finance, business development, operations and sales and marketing. Mr. Lenoci is responsible for leading a senior group of communication and cable professionals, who have grown the commercial revenue base to an annual revenue rate of over $200 million today. Much of this growth has occurred during a very tumultuous period in the communication industry and in a super competitive pricing environment. Prior to joining Bright House Networks in November of 2007, Mr. Lenoci was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Looking Glass Networks where he helped grow revenue from $-0- in 2001 to over $80M when it was sold to Level 3 Communications. Prior to that he was Regional Vice President of Sales and Operations for McLeod USA, where he lead a 500-person team. Previously, Mr. Lenoci was the Chief Operating Officer at Ovation Communications before its acquisition by McLeod. He also spent several years at MFS and subsequently WorldCom where he served in various capacities, including sales, operations, network implementation and finance. Mr. Lenoci earned a Master degree of Business Administration and Finance from DePaul University. He received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
